Sure wish I could post in this section more – it’s rather fun to improve the home!
Good news is Esuna and I may have figured out how we can expand our space at home a bit.
For those who are just tuning in, we live with Esuna’s father. For the most part we have pretty much lived our lives in one bedroom despite this house being a three bedroom, two living room with a sunroom house. Much too long of a story to explain why we were so cramped.
So since Esuna is slimming down his studio, and he isn’t being much in the band scene since he’s found his niche business in lighting, not as much studio space is needed. We’re looking at combining studio and living room space. It’s also going to serve as a test run for our own place to see if it will actually work out. Always good to test run before committing (basically dating before getting married).
But! Before we make this move, we have a few things to do in preparation first.
Esuna picked up an industrial shelf to use in his new storage unit. This will make the vertical space usable for his equipment. Some of his equipment has been moved to the new storage unit from the house and from our joint storage unit. Eventually all equipment will have it’s own storage unit. In the meantime, it’s slightly easier to get the couch out in the future.
We’ll be moving more equipment yet and still need to take the shelf over to the storage unit.
Next step is to take everything off the walls in that room, fill in the holes and paint the walls. After that, the couch should be brought home from the storage unit. We missed it…
Esuna will need someone else to give him a hand with that because I will be useless. If I were still working at the pet store, I would be able to help but that was over three years ago.
Next up will be bringing Esuna’s entertainment centre downstairs from the bedroom. Again, he’ll need someone else to help him with that. This will give us the additional side effect of the bedroom being a little roomier. Hopefully. We’ll still need to sort out the television situation, though. Also decide which gaming consoles stay in the bedroom and which will go in the studio / living room combo.
Also I’m about to receive some mesh cubes to help me sort my yarn stock. They have been in a box for some time now but they have long outgrown it. I have to dig around for some time and that’s a time waster and messes up all the skeins. Makes it hard when I need to stock check. So these cubes should be a huge help in stepping in the right direction in that department. I think those arrive tomorrow.
Who wants to place bets on how many cats will climb all over everything while we’re trying to work on stuff?
